Year end is a great time to make a gift to CENTERSTAGE. Here are some ways you can save on taxes and help the theater:

  • Cash Contributions

Ticket price covers less than half the cost of staging a CENTERSTAGE production. Consider making a one-time tax-deductible donation, or even better, a recurring monthly commitment to CENTERSTAGE that allows you to make a larger gift by spreading payments out over the course of the year. It’s easy—just visit our online donation page.

  • Gifts of Stock

Making a stock gift to CENTERSTAGE can provide valuable tax benefits to you and maximize your gift to the theater. Selling stock means you pay taxes on the profit. Donating stock to CENTERSTAGE eliminates the tax bill and gains you an income tax deduction for the full cash value of the stock. Please contact Randi Benesch in the Development office for details. Randi may be reached at 410-986.4024 or rbenesch@centerstage.org.

  • Gifts in Memory

Planned Giving: Your foresight is our future

Making a commitment to CENTERSTAGE through your will or other estate plans is an effective way to ensure that the artistry lives on. A legacy gift allows you to keep your assets during your lifetime, while taking comfort in the knowledge that you have made a commitment to the theater. Please contact Cindi Monahan, Director of Development for more information. Cindi may be reached at 410.986.4020 or cmonahan@centerstage.org

  • Make a donation directly from your IRA

The IRA Charitable Rollover expires December 31, 2009.If you are age 70 ½ or older you can make a gift of up to $100,000 to CENTERSTAGE directly from your IRA without including the IRA withdrawal in your taxable income. This provision is part of the Tax Extenders and Alternative Minimum Tax Relief Act of 2008. Qualified charitable distributions cannot be paid to account holders. For the gift to be excluded from donor income, distribution checks must be made payable directly to CENTERSTAGE from the IRA and are counted toward the owner’s required minimum distributions. Please consult with your financial advisor to determine if this is a good option for you.

  • Matching Gifts

Did you know that you may be able to double your gift with the help of your employer? Many companies offer a matching gift program—check with your business office to see if your company is one of them. By completing a simple form you may be able to double your impact.
