Dear Baltimore Center Stage Family,
I hope you are doing well during these challenging times. One of the things I miss most is seeing you coming through our doors and congregating in our lobbies. And, of course, I miss your live interaction with the work of our artists, who not only entertain us, but most importantly help illuminate what it is to be human.
Many of you have asked or are wondering when we will announce next season and when you can renew (thank you for thinking about this!). Honestly, we are wondering too. For the past few months we have been plotting and planning an exciting 2020/21 Mainstage season, one that will bring you the work of some of the freshest artists and voices in contemporary theater, as well as some of the most profound voices from our past.
We are in the process of adapting our 2020/21 season with the safety of our artists, staff, and all of you in mind. We are hoping to soon share our plans. When we can reopen, please know that we will have protocols in place for your safety and comfort.
In the meantime, I hope you have been able to keep up with the many programs we are offering. Whether you enjoyed Where We Stand from home, are utilizing our family Camp at Home curriculum, or have read one of our newly commissioned plays for Play at Home, Center Stage is still striving to share stories with you. With your help we continue to support our staff and the artisans and artists we employ. They’re working hard on the programs we’ve been providing, making calls to all of you, constructing Personal Protective Equipment for local hospitals, and more. Stay tuned to hear from us soon about special programming just for our members as well as summer learning opportunities for all ages.
Thank you for your patience and continued commitment to Center Stage as we evolve and adapt through this time.
See you at the theater! (Someday soon I hope).
