Camp BCS COVID-19 Protocols
Pre-Arrival Guidelines
- Campers will be divided into class pods of no more than 8 campers. Each pod will stay together during the entirety of the camp day moving from classroom to classroom together in one group.
- Parents/Guardians are encouraged to take the camper’s temperature at home before entering into the building each day of camp programming. If a camper’s temperature is over 100.4 then that camper should not be brought into the building that day.
- If a camper has a fever of over 100.4 then that camper will not be allowed back into camp until they have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication (such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen).
- All campers should arrive wearing a clean mask that fits well and provides full coverage to their face. It is important that the mask seals around the camper’s nose.
- Parents/Guardians and campers should be masked during the arrival process in order to enter the building.
- Arrival time for camp will be divided into 2 separate arrival times based on the pods. Once the pods have been determined for each camp, the parents/guardians will be notified of their camper’s arrival time.
Arrival Procedures
- Arrival is through the main entrance glass doors of Baltimore Center Stage on Calvert Street. There you will be met by a camp representative.
- At arrival, the camper’s temperature will be taken and anyone with a temperature over 100.4 will be sent home. BCS camp staff will make a note of any camper who demonstrates symptoms for any prospective contact tracing purposes.
- The parent/guardian may be asked a few covid-related questions.
- The campers will then head to their designated pod area in the first floor lobby. Once gathered, they will move to their first classroom.
Camp Programming Procedures
- Each space will have a sanitation station for use entering, exiting, and as necessary during class. This will include additional, appropriately sized masks and hand sanitizer. There will also be additional cleaning supplies in each classroom to support cleaning standards.
- Campers will remain masked and at a 3’ distance. Lunch will have a 6’ distance.
- Each space is equipped with an air-purifying system.
- A Covid Compliance Office will be on-premise during all operating hours of camp.
- In the event of a camper demonstrating covid 19 symptoms, they will be isolated with supervision and their emergency contact will be notified.
- If a positive Covid case is reported a contact tracing process will be in effect. The emergency contacts of campers in the pod and all who have encountered the pod will be notified and will need to be tested before re-entering the camp. All campers will be switched to the virtual camp. Maryland Department of Health will be contacted and will direct the next steps.
- Each space will be sanitized after each class and students will help to wipe down all surfaces they came into contact with.
