What’s the most interesting thing about your job?

Drafting in autoCAD is pretty cool. It’s the same program architects and engineers use. It a very powerful program. I am making informative pictures. It’s super fun. Automation. I get to be a part of the design and set up all the automation that happens on stage. Theater Magic. As technical directors, we get the very interesting job of making people’s designs actually happen. We are the intersection of where dreams become reality.

Do you have a favorite space in the BCS building?

All of the theater spaces have their own little quirks and personalities. That’s what makes working in theater spaces interesting. Oftentimes you can see how the building has evolved to fit what the production and company needs. I love that. If we weren’t running into the constraints of the building, then we aren’t pushing what is possible in our space. It gives us many opportunities to practice creative problem solving.

What is your favorite play?

Skeleton Crew
